Scorched Wooden Staff

I've found a wooden staff that looks like it has seen better days. The markings on its burnt and charred surface seem to hint at some purpose beyond a normal walking stick.

I need to find the missing rocks or gems that were once a part of the staff. They couldn't have gotten far so I should search for anything that fits within Fallen Gate where I found the staff.

The four carved ridges along the length seem to indicate that perhaps the staff had some leather grips. Perhaps if I could replace these with something similar it will give me a hint as to their purpose.

I should find a replacement for the leather straps that probably existed on the staff before. (in Fallen Gate)

It seems as if the end caps are missing. Some replacements might be found down near Hate's Forge in Fallen Gate.
