I found an strange collection of shells bound together like a book. The rings let me flip through them and read the strange writing upon the shells. The description within seems to be instructions on creating a special type of trident.

I need to start by collecting the trident tines. According to the markings on the shells the best tines are made from the "spear" of giant spearfish.

The sirens seem to use the dried tentacles of the evil eyes they can capture and kill as lashings to hold the tines in place and give them strength after putting in the bends to the swordfish created tines.

The trident seems nearly complete though lacks the haft. According to the instructions in the shells I should try and find the long horn of a nightblood. The horn can be straightened with the right incantations and shaved to the right width to work as the haft for the trident.
