After investigating the theft of a stolen book, I discovered that Jai-la Ventur was the thief. She confessed that she took the tome at the behest of her husband, a pirate named Varden Shivren. Clearly she is very much in love with this man, as she walks to the shore every day to cast a bottle into the water hoping it will carry a note to him. Jai-la knows that I must inform Chief Ko-ma of the theft, and she seems genuinely sorry for her actions. She has not heard from her husband in some time, and has begged me to find out where he might be. Her only evidence is a crumpled note.
I should read the note that Jai-la found.
I should examine the note that was found by Jai-la. Perhaps it contains a clue as to her husband's location. (in The Village of Shin)
The crumpled note that Jai-la found says that Varden was going to meet someone named Alyra near the Gunthak camp in Mystic Lake. I should see if I can find this person.
I should search near the Gunthak camp and try to find this person named Alyra whom Varden was supposed to meet. (in The Mystic Lake)
Alyra the Assassin was carrying a document. I should examine it for further evidence.

I should inform Jai-la Ventur in the village of Shin that her husband is dead.
